Less indirect costs:
Spare parts are available faster.
Additive manufacturing is the future of production technology. But while some still talk about it, we are already acting – and have been doing so for several years. Our experience during this time has given us one thing above all: a great advantage over the competition.
What does the surface of a 3D printed part look like?
With our 3D metal printing, the surfaces are comparable with cast surfaces from conventional processes. We achieve an Rz-value of 30-45µm.
What is geometrically possible with 3D printing?
This is one of the enormous strengths of the additive process: we are completely free in terms of geometry. We can print internal channels as well as significantly reduce the weight of a component by replacing unnecessary material with honeycomb structures, for example. And we can do this without compromising the rigidity and stability of the component.
Will 3D printing become more expensive as it becomes more complex?
Absolutely not: complexity is not a cost factor! In contrast to conventional processes, production is not more expensive if a component is particularly complex. Furthermore, in a mini-series, for example, all components can be individually manufactured without additional costs.
What is the performance of a 3D printed part?
The quality inspection makes it clear that 3D printing components are a real alternative to conventional processes. The controlled melting of the layers gives us a material density of almost 100% and the components withstand pressures of up to 30 bar.
What are the tolerances in 3D printing?
In general, we manufacture according to DIN-ISO 2768-mK, but here we are partly geometry-dependent.
What finishes are possible after 3D printing?
Each component from the 3D printing process can then be individually painted, powder-coated or polished. For special surfaces, we work together with partners who specialize in this.
Does 3D printing pay off in terms of cost?
In many areas it is definitely worthwhile. Especially when the component is either particularly complex or is required in smaller quantities. The great strength of 3D printing is that prototypes or pre-series can also be produced very easily and cost-effectively. We can easily print several variants of a part until the final version is determined because we don’t need a tool.
How long does it take to produce a part in 3D printing?
Compared to conventional methods, 3D printing is characterized by very fast and flexible implementation. We can therefore deliver a component within a few days.
